Legislation for Term Time Holidays
The rules regarding pupils taking holidays during term time are clear in that headteachers may not grant any leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
You therefore need to consider any such requests carefully and detail the ‘exceptional circumstances’ should you decide to submit a request.
'Request for Planned Absence' forms are available from the college or you can download and print the form below; you must return the completed form to college and the head of college will determine whether, under these new rules, she is able to authorise the absence.
Please ensure any request for planned absence is submitted as far in advance as possible.
Please be aware that unauthorised absences can lead to the local authority issuing parents with a penalty notice of £60 (if paid within 21 days of issue) or £120 (if paid within 28 days).
